IRCC Announced the Out of Status Construction Workers (GTA) PR Application Limits Double:
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently announced on January 20, 2023, that the permanent residency application allocation doubles for out-of-status construction workers in GTA.
This public policy is for construction workers in GTA. Firstly, IRCC declared this public policy on January 2, 2020. This public policy will be in effect until January 2, 2024.
Before, the number of permanent residency applications limit was 500. The applicants who submitted their file for permanent residency before January 2, 2023, will be processed.
Recently, on Jan 20, 2023, IRCC increase the limits of applications under this public policy for construction workers. They expand the limit from 500 to 1000 applications.
Basically, IRCC starts this public policy for out-of-status construction workers in the GTA who works in the GTA for a long time but didn’t get permanent residency in Canada. Now, IRCC double the limits of applications which is good news for out of status construction workers in GTA Canada.

Requirements for Out of Construction Workers Temporary Public Policy
There are some eligibility requirements for applicants before applying under this public policy.
- Applicants must be entered Canada as temporary residents such as students or on work permits but currently residing in Canada out of status.
- Applicants must be living in Canada for 5 years.
- Applicants must have the right work experience such as construction workers
- Applicants must have family members in Canada. Family members include the extended family in Canada or spouse, common-law partner, or children
- Applicants must be referred by Canadian Labour Congress. Actually, LLC check that you meet the requirements of this public policy
- Applicants’ families must not be inadmissible to Canada.

Processing Fees under the Temporary Public Policy
The processing fee under this public policy for permanent residency is $1,085 per applicant. If you include your child in the application then $155 extra charges for it.
